 New Update: November 4th, 2010

Okay, let's see...NT2 was awesome and special and unique and humbling and a real treat to partake in with so many amazing musicians and support folk. Members of the Inspire Choir participated on many different levels as well. For me the experience was a blend of new and fresh and old and tribal. Anyways, it was truly cool to spend so much time with such stellar humans.  Which brings us to the forthcoming November Community Sing on Sunday the 14th at 6pm.  Per usual we will plan to keep it fresh and focused with a few special finesses. We look forward to being back at Presence after a summer spent singing on Taylor Dock and Mmmm, those were some yummy singing sessions!  There ya have it friends...Now Let's Sing!

 September 29th, 2010

Wow, it's been an amazing summer and a beautiful Autumn is unfolding. The Elijah Bellingham Band of Light Experience was awesome--YES! Next up is the Natural Transitions concerts on October 8th and 9th. We hope to schedule some Community Sings in the coming month so keep checking back for further details!

July 11th Taylor Dock Update: Imagine swirling winds, gentle sun rays, and 40 voices singing to the water and eachother with big smiles. This was both a challenging night with the wind and the high number of new singers, but ultimately one of the most rewarding with the level of enthusiasm and sense of community that continues to develop each new time we gather.  Next up we prep for our Co-op Party "Community Sing" on Saturday, July 24th at Boulevard Park at 4pm. Join us!

June 13th Taylor Dock Update: Amazing to have 35 folks or so this evening! Big sound that wove our voices powerfully to send good energy to the waters and all the creatures of the oceans...The energy continues to build and expand as we drew in several folks walking by to sing with us this week!  The night was cool but clear as we sang the sun a lullaby as it dropped down in to the bay...

June 6th Taylor Dock Update:  Wow, what an uplifting and joyous evening of beautiful voices sharing in community.  This was a great space to sing, right over the water, as the sun begins to go down for the day. The format was a nice blend of circle songs, toning and improv. Thanks to everyone who attended!

Update 5/22: After 7 uplifting singing sessions at Presence Studio over the past 2 months, we are now ready to take it outdoors for the summer. We plan to gather at unique and scenic Bellingham locations through September. We will update the website and post the next sessions as they decide to manifest...

So stay posted and come sing in community--to your community!

Mothers Day was a magical session--thanks for all who showed up and sang with inspiration in honor of Mothers everywhere!

Reflections from week Four (4/10):

What a beautiful and eclectic group of singers joining together to explore vocal warm-ups, circle songs, harmony, improv and breath.  We had 11 folks this week and look forward to our next session on the 25th.  Invite a friend and lets see if we can get 30 voices singing together in honor of Earth Day!

This weeks (4/3) update courtesy of Kelly:

We are looking forward to another Inspired community vocal session at the beautiful Presence Studio this Sunday April 11, from 5-7 pm and hope you will join us!

As proposed last session, we will begin right at 5 pm, doing vocal warm-ups and then move into actual singing closer to 5:20...I recommend arriving early so everyone can care for their voices with proper warm up.

This week we will play with tuning our ears for harmony, exploring more improv. (including instruments, so bring shakers or little percussion instruments if you'd like), enjoying group unison, and learning some new songs...one is a Rumi poem set to music that is so soulful I love singing it!

We welcome new voices...please pass along our website www.inspirechoir.com for further info.

Sing with You Sunday!

Week Three Inspire Choir Session Reflection:

" Week Three was a mystery, a found key and some harmony...
the place for me to be and see the chi set free
like roots and trees in community!"

Week Two Vision: Equinox--March 21st, 2010

 Hello Singing Friends,

We welcome you to come join in harmony with our forming community of voices to celebrate the return of Spring and the stirring energies of colorful expression that are blossoming all around us!

Last week was a hopeful beginning with 14 voices exploring the safety of singing in a supportive circle--exploring simple circle songs along with the fresh, upbeat energetics & challenges of improvised group jams. An authentic opening...

This week we will be sharing more circle songs with a deeper exploration of finding the sweet spot of harmony with learned parts.  We will be creating a sonic sanctuary to tone-fully express our intentions and prayers for Spring and Mama Earth. There also will be continued discovery time for improvised vocal play immersion. Where shall we go this week?

The Singing Continues! We hope you will join us...

Tomorrow--This Sunday--March 21 at 5 pm
at Presence Studio (Upstairs @ 1412 Cornwall)

$8-12 (sliding fee cost covering contribution)

In honor of Spring, we will create a Spring mandala/altar, so please feel free to bring a rock, feather, flowers or something you want to juice up with all our sweet Spring singing...

Join us in the Singing Sanctuary!
