Nathan Dame serves as Executive Director and Co-Founder of InspireChoir. Nathan is in his tenth year of choral music education and serves as Co-Director of Choirs at Lovejoy High School. He has served on the faculty of the University of Kansas and in middle and high schools in Denison, Denton, and Plano, Texas. His drive to inspire students at all levels and abilities have provided him opportunities to teach at all levels, as well as to serve music educators in teaching conducting, choral music methods, and supervising student teachers. Choirs and programs under his direction have repeatedly grown to become some of the largest and most successful programs in their region, frequently earning Superior, Overall Outstanding, and Grand Champion awards in choral competitions. Recent honors include invitations to perform at the Southwestern ACDA Convention, Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Hall, the Texas and Kansas State Capitol, and the Texas Motor Speedway.
He received honors for Excellence in Teaching from Denton, Plano, and Denison ISD and was named North Texas Children’s Choir Teacher of the Year in 2012. An active presenter, clinician-conductor, author, and adjudicator, he has appeared in numerous state, national, and international conferences and publications. In October, he will serve as the clinician-conductor for the Middle School Boys Choir at the 23rd Annual Bangkok International Choir Festival. He currently serves as TMEA Region 25 High School Vocal Chair-Elect and has served as Baritone Section Leader for the 2017 Texas All-State Tenor-Bass Choir, Coordinator of Vocal Music for Denison ISD, TMEA MS/JH Vocal Chair for Region 2, and as State Collegiate President for Kansas NAfME.
Nathan is a member of NAfME, TMEA, TCDA, ACDA, TMAA, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Pi Kappa Lambda. He holds a B.M.E. from the University of Kansas, a M.A. in Music Education from Texas Woman’s University, and is in his final year pursuing a Ph.D. in Music Education (Choral Pedagogy) at the University of Kansas.
